How ifStories uses and protects account, story, and usage data.
We collect the information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, password hash, account roles, and the stories you create or edit. We also store session data so you can stay signed in, along with favourites, recently played stories, and account activity timestamps such as registration and last login.
We use your data to operate the website, authenticate your account, save your stories, show your personal library, moderate published content, and improve the service. We also store basic analytics such as page views, story views, and approximate country-level request data to understand site usage.
We only send transactional emails from no-reply@ifstories.com. These emails are used for account registration verification, password recovery, and other essential website notifications. We do not use this sender for bulk marketing email.
Account, story, session, and analytics data may be stored using third-party infrastructure and database services used to operate ifStories. Email addresses and related email content may also be sent to third-party services when necessary to deliver transactional messages such as verification or password recovery emails.
We use reasonable technical measures to help protect account and session data, including secure authentication flows and HTTP-only session cookies to reduce exposure of authentication tokens in the browser.
You can update your account details from your account page. If you need help with account deletion or privacy-related questions, contact the site operator through the contact details published for the project.
This page may be updated as the website evolves. Continued use of ifStories after changes means the updated policy applies.
